Yes. PhoneForge is designed to be transparent and local-first: the app runs on your computer, phone data stays on that machine, and this website uses HTTPS via Cloudflare. We don’t upload your photos, messages, or files to our servers. You can verify the public site with independent security scanners:

launch.sh (or start) runs PhoneForge locally at localhost:8742. expose.sh (or start --public) does that plus creates a free HTTPS link so you can open the dashboard from another phone or PC. Use --public unless you only need same-WiFi access.

Login uses the cloud API at https://api.phoneforge.net — not your laptop. If login fails, the API may still be starting up; wait a minute and hard-refresh (Cmd+Shift+R). You do not need PhoneForge running locally to create an account. After login, install PhoneForge on your USB computer to control a phone.

PhoneForge does not steal your data. The app runs on your computer and talks to your phone over USB. We do not upload your photos, messages, contacts, or files to our servers.
What we store: your account email (for login), subscription status, and registered device IDs tied to your account. Payment processing is handled by Stripe — we never see your full card number.
What stays local: all phone data, screenshots, files, and device info stay on the machine where PhoneForge is running. If you use a public link, only the dashboard UI is exposed — your phone must still be plugged into that same computer.
